What a beautiful weekend! We hope you all got he chance to enjoy this wonderful weather.

Thanks to all who were able to attend "Bring Your Family to School Night"!
It was great to see so many of you there. We hope you found it to be informative and fun and that your student(s) enjoyed themselves as well. It's always great to see the children in the role of host/hostess and so proud of their work!

The fifth grade (as well as a few third and sixth graders) performed a rousing line dance.
Here's a bit of the action:

September 20th

Fifth and Sixth Graders had a wonderful time at the Tunbridge Fair last week.
Some photos from our day are included in this post - be sure to scroll down to view them all!
A special thank you to the chaperons who made our field trip possible!

As Fall approaches, we continue to develop our classroom and grade level expectations as well as our "social contract" - our agreement on how we want ourselves and others to be and act as we share our school experience this year.

Student Council has taken on the responsibility of helping to create a cohesive document of students' ideas. We shared this document at last Friday's Community Meeting.

Sixth Graders hosted the first community meeting of the year! They enjoyed sharing a game we love to play called Lyrics! The group was broken into 3 smaller groups and then given a word.

They had 2 minutes to come up with as many lyrics as they can sing containing the word. After two minutes, the groups took turns singing a lyric they had chosen. If a group could not sing a lyric, they would be out!
The word this time was LOVE!

You can access a bit of the action by clicking below:

 6th Grade Singing Competition

They also got a chance to perform once again (along with the 5th grade) this past Friday, singing a song they learned with Mrs.Drew in music class. They really belted this one out!

We are excited for our trip to the fair this Thursday, September 17th.
Thanks to all who volunteered to assist as a chaperone. This is sure to be a great time for all!

This week, fifth and sixth graders are finishing their Advisory class work on creating a "Social Contract" together, rules they mutually agree on which will guide how they experience each school day together in the coming year. Next week, we will post the Social Contract.
