Happy Weekend!

As another week flies by,  the students continue to amaze us with their eagerness to learn and willingness to try new things. We see this learning both in and out of the classroom as relationships, as well as concepts, are developed.
At this tenuous age of growth, we try to guide students towards independence as they meet challenges both with friends as well as with school work.

As always, please don't hesitate to reach out with any concerns you may have!

Ms.Weber's class hosted Community Meeting and presented their core concepts;
Belonging and Citizenship...
complete with their own percussion section!!

Ask your student for more details on this fun and unique presentation!

An enrichment group created this geodesic dome out of rolled up newspaper and masking tape.
So cool!!

Happy Monday!!
We had another week full of learning and fun here at SME!!

Some of our most important learning can be accomplished outside of the four walls of the classroom...
Fifth grade had the special treat of attending two fantastic special events this past week. They saw the play Freedom Train performed at the HOP, and went on a science hike up Sunday Mountain on Friday. It is so fantastic to have the opportunity to learn through experiences like these.

On another note, you should have received your student's progress report on Friday the 22nd.
Let us know if you did not, or if you have any questions or concerns at all.

Important Dates:

•    February 29th -

It's been two weeks since we've been back at school and the students have been busy, busy, busy!

This is a great time of year in the classroom, as routines are well established and we are all more familiar with each other and the expectations in each class. We're in a great learning groove, too!

At community meeting this morning, Mrs. Rose's 6th grade class treated us to a heart-warming poem in honor of Martin Luther King day.

Each student read several lines of the poem and did a fantastic job reminding us of the message of equality for all.

Important Dates:

Tuesday, 1/19 - 5th grade field trip to the
                          Lebanon Opera House
**Please send in your students permission slip if you haven't done so already!!

Friday, 1/22 - 5th grade science hike!
