Hello All!

We want to wish you the very best of times with your loved ones over this Thanksgiving break!

We are so thankful we get to spend our days with your curious, energetic, fun, inquisitive, and eager students. Thank you for not only sharing your children with us, but for your continued support and investment in your child's education at home. It truly does take a village!

Report cards will be going home with students on Wednesday afternoon.

Mrs. Keiling would like to share some further information about our grading system:

Dear Sixth Grade Parents and Guardians,

The Rivendell School District uses standards based report cards for students in grades kindergarten through fifth grade.  These report cards are issued three times a year. Sixth grade is the year we transition from a completely standard based report card to a combination of standards and  percentile grades for their core academic subjects of Language Arts, Science, Social Studies and Math.

On your child’s report card you will see a percentile grade.  The range will be:
·    90-100      A
·    80-89        B
·    70-79        C
·    Incomplete    I

Anything below a 70 on a test will be considered an incomplete and students will be required to review the work and retake the test.

Their grade will be based on 15% homework and 85% test, quizzes and projects.

If you have any questions about your child’s grade, do not hesitate to contact your child’s teachers.

Enjoy the holiday!!

Last Friday, Samuel Morey hosted our annual Harvest Dinner. Young and old enjoyed delicious food accompanied by thoughtful and heartfelt songs and poems to thank our veterans.

The sixth grade class worked tirelessly to set up, decorate, serve, and clean up this fun event.

Buddies enjoyed some quality time together!

It was a special treat to get to have lunch with grandparents...

We'd also like to take this chance to thank all of you who brought your student to 3-way conferences!

We all were so proud of each of our students as they demonstrated their learning; their goals, their challenges, and examples of their growth. It was great to have a chance to meet with you all!

Thanks for supporting your child and your continued commitment to their learning.

Thank you, as always, for viewing our blog!

Happy November!!

We hope you all enjoyed your Halloween weekend!

We look forward to seeing you all at our 3-way conferences this Friday, November 6th.

If you still need to sign up for a time, please check in with your student's homeroom teacher so that you may do so.

We had a wonderful visit from the Vermont Symphony Orchestra last Thursday. Students got to see, hear, and learn about the flute, and the harp.

It was especially fun to have Westshire Elementary join us for this special performance.

Fifth and sixth graders were a wonderful audience!

There was even an opportunity for some audience participation!
