Happy Friday 5th and 6th Grade Families,
I hope the New Year is finding you happy and healthy! 5th and 6th graders are slowly transitioning to 2019 and we are excited about what this year has in store!
January can be a tough month for us all as the winter weather is upon us, it's still dark early in the day and the demands of balancing school, sports, friendships, etc can feel like a lot!
Ms. K and I have been working with some students in a "Movement" group during Intervention and Extension with a focus on mindfulness and yoga. Check out this website that offers a free account https://www.smilingmind.com.au/. It is a great way to tap into mindfulness and can help you and your children prepare your mind to balance all the demands of the winter months! There are some great free yoga resources online too that are kid friendly! Let us know if you'd like some help finding those!
Upcoming events:
January 21st Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, No School
January 22nd, 5:15-6:45 Informed Consumer Cooking Challenge Exhibition
January 17, 24, 31, February 7, 14 Winter Program
February 18-22nd Winter Break, No School
